XXIX    49       REGIONAL OFFICES HEAD QUARTER DIVISION RO(HQ)

 

            Administration, Supervision, co-ordination and monitoring of Regional Offices located at Banaglore, Bhopal, Bhubanesewar, Lucknow, Shillong and Chandigarh of Forestry and Environmental activities at field level in State/ UTs.  Specially for monitoring of implementation for Government of India’s conditions stipulated for diversion of forest land for non-forestry use under Forest Conservation Act(FCA) and stipulations for environmental clearance under FCA.  The regional office(HQ) unit is an administrative unit coordinating section for regional offices in the Ministry.

 

In addition to above, the other functions of RO (HQ) are as under:

 

a)                 Preparation or Budget allocation and monitoring of expenditure in respect of Plan scheme or strengthening of forestry Division.

b)                 Annual Action Plan for Regional Offices.

c)                  Annual Programme for Regional Offices.

d)                 All Services matters of Regional Offices.

e)                 Recruitment Rules.

f)                    All establishment matters.

g)                 Scrutiny & examination of monitoring reports with reference to the Government of India’s conditions stipulated in forest land for non-forestry uses.

h)                 Convening conferences/ meeting of forest secretaries/ Principal Chief Conservator Forests (PCCPs)/ Regional Chief Conservator of Forests (RCCPs) / Scientist to review the performances of progress of assigned functions.
