Decision Support System for Planning Wildlife Corridor

Developing corridor using manual procedure is a cumbersome process and takes much of time, also makes it very difficult to analyze cost benefits. Efficiency  and effectiveness of the corridor is not predictable. GIS based decision support system for planning wild life corridors allow the user to select a definite path of his choice based on the areas not to be included in the corridor planning. Computerized system should be able to give the clear picture of the different alternate path for the corridors, rough estimate of cost along with the feasibility and effectiveness of the corridor.

The objective of this Decision Support System is to  provide a protected route along which native wildlife species can move in relatively secured area between the several priority or otherwise high quality natural wildlife habitats. These habitats offer feeding, roosting, breeding, nesting and refuge areas for a variety of bird and mammal species native to the region.
